The City of Lexington’s E. Nelson Street Drainage Improvement project will commence Tuesday, January 17, 2017. This project involves replacing an aged, structurally deficient, and inadequate 36” storm drain with new and larger pipe. The work will be performed by Randy Hostetter Excavating, LLC. This line crosses E. Nelson Street in the vicinity of the Walker Street intersection, running from just above the Sheetz entrance to the BB & T bank across the street. The contractor is required to maintain two way traffic, one lane in each direction, on E. Nelson Street and access to businesses at all times; however, some traffic delays should be expected. The project is anticipated to be substantially complete in 90 calendar days and reach final completion in 120 calendar days. All work is weather dependent.
